Crane Removals

Some trees simply can’t come down the old-fashioned way. When a large oak leans over a roof, a dead pine sits between two houses, or storm damage leaves a tree unstable, a crane turns a dangerous, multi-day job into a controlled, precise lift. Risk Tree Service pairs certified arborists with licensed crane operators to remove trees in sections, lifting each piece up and over your home instead of dropping it through your yard.

When a crane is the right call

  • Trees too large or too close to structures to be climbed and lowered by rope
  • Hazardous, dead or storm-damaged trees that are unsafe to climb
  • Tight urban lots in Uptown, Metairie, Lakeview and the Northshore where there is no drop zone
  • Trees over pools, patios, driveways, fences or power lines
  • Protecting landscaping, hardscape and neighboring property from impact damage
  • Commercial and institutional sites that need the job finished fast with minimal disruption

How a crane removal works

  1. Site assessment — a certified arborist evaluates the tree, the structures around it, access and ground conditions, then plans the lift sequence and crane position.
  2. Permits and protection — we handle street-closure permits where needed, set outrigger pads and protect driveways and lawns.
  3. Rigging and lifting — a climber rigs each section to the crane hook; pieces are cut and lifted clear, swung to the landing zone and processed on the ground.
  4. Cleanup — logs and brush are hauled, the stump can be ground the same day, and the site is raked clean.
